Singalila trail is the longest trek in the region. The trail covers the complete range of Singalila all the way from Uttarey village where the road ends. The trek starts along the Nepal border, even camping a night at the Nepalese side. Before reaching Goecha la pass, 5000m, you have to cross several isolated high mountain passes. Singalila is the only trail in the Himalayas from where you can get stupendous views of not only the Kangchendzonga range but also of the Everest range. The itinerary is designed to give a little introduction of Sikkimese Culture, Buddhism and life style.
Day to day itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Bagdogra airport and transfer to Darjeeling, 2200m. Your guide and a driver will be waiting for you at the airport. Stay at Hotel.
Day 2: Himalayan Tow Train ride and walk through the town including visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
Day 3: Transfer to Uttarey village from where your trek starts. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 4: Uttarey, 2320m to Chewabhanjyang, 3100m, 5 hours.
Day 5: Acclimatization day. During the day climb Singalila peak, 3618m (optional) which lies on the border with Nepal.
Day 6: Chewabhanjyang to Dhor, 3700m, 7 hrs walk.
Day 7: Dhor to Pare Meghu, 3900m, 5 hrs walk.
Day 8: Paremeghu to Lampokhari lake, 4200m, 4 hrs walk.
Day 9: Lampokhari – Dui La, 4541m - Gomathang, 3735m. Climbing up to the Danphebir Ridge, 4631 m.
Day 10: Gomathang, 3735 m – Yangshep, 4 300 - Pangding, 4210 m. 4 hrs walk.
Day 11: Pangding, 4210 m – Dzongri, 3950m. 6-7 hrs walk.
Day 12: Rest at Dzongri. In the morning you will walk up to the Dzongri top, 4300m to see the sunrise on Khanchendzonga range.
Day 13: Dzongri – Lamune. 4200m, 5 hrs walk.
Day 14: Lamune, 4200 m – Goecha La Pass, 5002 m – Thangsing, 3800 m (13 Kms in 8 to 9 hrs).
Day 15: Rest at Thangsing Valley. After the tiring previous day to Goecha la, you deserve a rest before head on to another challenging but worth taking route to Kasturi. During the day, you can explore the small peaks.
Day 16:Thangsing- Chamrey, 4300 m. via Lampokhari Lake. 5 hrs walk.
Day 17: Chamrey to Kasturi, 3800m. 6 hrs walk.
Day 18: Kasturi to Labdang Village, Nepali home stay at the village. After being in the mountains for sometime, you will walk down to Labdang Village where you will experience the local people’s life and welcome back to civilization : ). Nepali Homestay.
Day 19: Labdang to Tashiding Monastery overnight at the Buddhist home. Relax at clean, beutiful wooden house which stands within the monastery compound.
Day 20: Tashiding to Kalimpong. 3 hours drive. Kalimpong used to be the hub for the Tibetan refugee. Stay at excellent Orchid farm house.
Day 21: Kalimpong to Bagdogra airport. 5 hours drive.

CAMPING - Camping tents, using geodesic dome/A4, 2 persons in a tent, single tent supplied on request, mats are included but you can bring your own (optional), toilet tents and dining tent part of group camping gear. Guests need to bring their own sleeping bags.
STRENUOUS - You will need to be fit, have very good stamina, and be confident that you can trek for some days without a break. You should expect some long days, cold temperatures, high altitudes, and some tough terrain in simply spectacular scenery.
