STAY AT TASHIDING MONASTERY:
Tashiding monastery is amongst the most sacred monasteries in the region. The monastery was founded in 1716 on top of a hill overlooking Tashiding village and facing some of the beatiful mountains. The huge monastery's sorrounding is decorated with thousands of beatiful buddhist carving stones which is eventually the meditation work of 86 years old monk who is still on his carving stone meditation.
During your stay at Tashiding you get to experience the life in a Buddhist family and the spiritual atmosphere and masterpieces of Buddhist art embedded in the nature.
TEMI TEA GARDEN:
Set amid a lush green carpet of manicured tea gardens, with 360 degree views of Mt. Kangchendzonga and the Tista River gorge nearly 8000 metres below, Temi tea garden produce a world famous organic tea and considered one of the best in India. It is situated in the Southern part of Sikkim where the climate is comparatively warm and friendly, making it a perfect place for some rest days in the worldfresh Himalayan to fill your lungs. The region is dominated by rice terraces, cardamom plantations and a lush vegetation dropping to the river teesta.
We support community based tourism as that encourages our young people to find employment in the tourism sector. The cooperation has improved opportunities for the people in Darap village in the past. Locals will delight you with a hot stone traditional bath and their cultural programme.
North Sikkim is the most remote and tranquil part of Sikkim. The landscape is quite rocky with scrubs and rhododendrons. The main destination here is Yumthang and Chopta valley: a plain valley washed out by a mountain stream surrounded by snow caved mountains. Itís a unique environment and you can explore this unexplored nature on a walk along the river. Not far from Yumthang valley is a hot spring where you can take a relaxing bath.
On the way from East to North Sikkim lies the monastery of Phodong, the home of little Reinpoche. If you are lucky to meet him you will feel the great energy of the 7year old master.
Not far from Gangtok lies Rumtek monastery, the official seat of the seventeenth Karmapa, the head of the Kagyu sect of the Tibetan buddhism. Due to the political tensions over Tibet between China and India however, the Karmapa is not allowed to stay in Rumtek. The vast monastery compound includes the international Buddhism school and many major festivals, including cham dances, take place here.
