Hi Sajit,

Thanks for asking. We really enjoyed the trek, more than that, it was just great. The Kasturi itinerary you proposed was perfect for us: this is what we were looking for.
Our Guide, Sunil Limboo, was both kind and very professional. Actually, he is one of the best, if not the best, I met for this type of tour.
His team worked hard so that every thing went smoothly and they were all very friendly. Moreover the cook was excellent!
The only problem we encountered was that the taxi driver for our return trip had a very hard time findingthe guest house in Tashiding where we were waiting (I don't know what really happened), hence we left late and the drive down was a bit reckless and scary. But we got our flight.

If you have any further questions, I'll be happy to answer.

Kind regards,

Frederic

"After spending hours laughing and talking and connecting with them during our trekking experience in late October 2010, my husband and I have "adopted" Sajit, the owner/intial contact person, and Dawa, our actual trekking guide. Both of them were just amazingly endearing, knowledgable, integrous young men. It was my husband's and my first trek - at ages 56 and 61. It was challenging, to be sure, but now I know what the term "peak experience" really means....those pre-dawn hikes at 15 or 16000 feet tp watch the sun rise on the Himalayan peaks were literallly breathtaking - in more ways than one! Tears just rolled down our cheeks at the sheer beauty of the experience. Food was great - it's amazing what our cook managed to prepare in a tent in freezing temps! The logistics were well organized (by Indian standards!) :-) There were inevitable snafus, but that's where being a local company really saved the day. The whole experience was great. Compared to other companies/guides we saw enroute, we are VERY pleased we chose Sikkim Travel Express. Makes me smile just to think of Sajit and Dawa, our two new "family members." We miss you guys....!"

We are just back from our trekking in Sikkim
The Goecha La is a well-known trekking destination – Permit, Guide and Porter are mandatory.
We arrange everything online in advance and had great luck with the agency.
I highly can recommend Sajit sajit@sikkimtravelexpress.com from Sikkim Travel Express

Me, my wife, our two kids (8 & 12 yo) and two of our best friends did Sandakphu trek in April 2012 with Sikkim Travel Express. Right from our email correspondence, they were very efficient which made us easier to plan our trip especially with the kids. We were not sure whether we would be able complete the whole trek as our kids have never done a over night treks. I must say, Sanjay (our guide) and his team made us soo comfortable we did not have any trouble to complete the trek. Sanjay is a great guide and our kids loved him so much. The food was great and I would not hesitate to contact you guys again if we plan to do a longer trek.

Jacques from France says:

Hi Sajit, thanks for asking about us. Our trekking team was excellent, especially when we have encountered problem like severe weather, change of route, campsite. The trekking team have shown their professionalism and make our trekking trip a safe and enjoyable one. Areas to improve: Hot water bag to be held to sleep when the weather is cold is desirable.

Martin and group from UK say,

Dear Sajit, I wanted to convey to you our great appreciation for a truly wonderful trip to Sikkim. Everything was perfect from our hotel accomodations to our trek. Even the weather cooperated! However, the greatest highlight of our trip was meeting our guide Sanjay. We really can't say enough about what a fine young man he is and how much we enjoyed his company. He was kind and patient with us as we labored up the steep hillsides. He made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of but most of all, he shared with us his extraordinary spirit and love for Sikkim. He lit a fire in our hearts that will burn forever. We would recommend Sanjay's services, and your tour company, to our friends without reservation. In fact, I am trying to convince everyone I know to visit Sikkim. It was a life-changing experience. Thank you for making it possible.

Hallo Sajit,

Thank you for organizing our trek despite we had a bad luck with weather. We had a wonderful time in Gangtok and when we started to walk from Uttarey, it started also to rain! The second day we waited in the tent for better weather and by chance it became a little bit better, but not really. So we saw nothing from the beauty of the Singalila Ridge.
In Pangding the weather finally became better and we enjoyed it so much to see the mountains. We had wonderful days in Dzongri, Lamune and could walk till to the first viewpoint. The further way to Goecha-La was covered with snow and for us not possible. After Chitre it started again to be cloudy and the whole Kasturi Ridge down we had rain. This was a big disapointment. Nevertheless we had a really good time with the team around Sanjey and they did really their best to make it beautiful for us. We were again and again impressed from their kindness. At the end we were all happy to have a roof over us in Labdang and they made a unforgettable Good-by-evening for us with singing and dancing. We really enjoyed the time with them.

September 2014

Me, my brother and our father did a trekking late September 2014 with Sikkim Travel Express on the Goecha La/Kasturi route. The crew consisted of knowledgeable local (young) Sikkim people. Our guide spoke sufficient English to explain about the Kanchendzonga area, but you have to ask a lot to pull out the information. The service was great, food was according the circumstances and the tents were spacious enough. The scenery during track was amazing, although the weather was usually cloudy and rainy (late September). Better to go in late dry season, just before winter. This trekking is ideal for those who want to go into remote areas with no mass tourism.
I strongly recommend NOT to take the Kasturi route unless you like challenge. The Kasturi trail can be unpleasant trail for many trekkers. After 10 hours of descending on treacherous paths (the dzos - pack animals - take another route because of the narrow path) on the 10th day, you end up for the night rest in a dilapidated trekkers hut (no maintenance for years, rotten floors, no fire place), so camping is recommended. The last part (day 11) you walk for 9 hours through a thick forest with 2 meter high bushes with almost no path at all. It was obvious that this trail is not in use and the guides were not prepared as they did not have any machetes to "cut" the trail. I would strongly recommend to take the classic Goechala trek (same trail back to Yuksom). Add a day of rest before you move on to your next destination.
Sikkim Travel Express and the crew did its best to guide us through the trail, but make sure to get a right information forehand.

April  2015

The organisation of the trek was perfect and MD and his team have done a great job - guiding, loading luggage, preparing tents, delicious cooking .... The weather was mixed but we were lucky not to get wet as we always had reached the camp before it started raining. On THE day the sky was spotless blue, so we could see all the mighty mountains and even had breakfast in the sun at Dzongri. What a surprise if you have only seen clouds, fog and snow the days before. Florian was very happy with the horse and could enjoy quite a bit of riding up the steep path. Not only Luis would have loved to continue trekking for some more days ... So we all had a wonderful time.

Thank you very much for the perfect organisation.
I attach some of the pics.
